Each ski day Deburr edges with diamond stone. Use base bevel and edge bevel guides if needed. diamond deburr
     
Every 3-5 ski days Deburr edges with whetstone. whetstone deburr
Sharpen edges with file and edge bevel guide. Clean file. edge sharpen
Polish edges with emery paper. edge finish
     
Every 5 ski days Hot wax skis with iron. Scrape with plastic scraper. hot wax
     
As needed - quick wax Cork in wax if the bases seem a little slow. rub-in wax
     
As needed - base repair Repair scratches and gouges in base with ptex candle and long-handled lighter. Scrape excess with metal scraper. repair
Hot wax with iron after base repair. hot wax
     
As needed - machine stone grinding When base edges are heavily scratched; when ski base needs extensive repairs; plan on 2-3 times per season.
Have the shop stone grind the base to flat, with no edge bevel or base bevel.
Bevel base edges to desired angle. base bevel
