Edge Bevel Guide

The edge bevel guide is used with the whetstone, diamond stone, and file, for deburring and sharpening the edges. It's important to know how to use it and hold it for all these tasks...

Base view - this surface runs along the ski base
End view - the angle between the two legs of the guide determine the edge bevel angle
Top view - the machined ridges help the spring clamp grip tightly. The leg with the ridges hold the file (or other tool)
File installed on outside of machined leg. Place file at approx. 45 degrees across guide.
Spring clamp holding file onto guide. Make sure file is clamped onto the leg with the machined grooves.

The base of the thumb is placed over the file where it will sit on the ski edge. In this position, the file will be pulled toward you to cut.

Holding the spring clamp between the fingers helps prevent the file and clamp from pivoting on the guide.
