Particle
board or plywood, 1" thick, 6" wide by 12" long
Dowel, 1" to 1" diameter, 14" long
2 wood or drywall screws, 1" to 2" long (depending on
dowel), countersunk head

Assembly
|
Mark
a center line along the length of the board (both sides)
Holding the dowel in a vise, pilot drill through it for the screws
4" in from each end
Place the dowel on the board center line with approximately 1"
overhang on each end
Transfer the hole markings to the board
Pilot drill the board for the screws
Screw the dowel firmly onto the board; make sure the screw heads
are slightly recessed

V.1.
|
Holding
your poles firmly in each hand, straddle the teeter board. With
bare feet, center one foot on the board - the center of your heel
and your second toe should lie on the centerline. Holding your arms
wide, with both pole tips touching the ground, lift your free foot
slightly off the ground. Adjust your stance foot position subtly
on the board if needed. (If you always tip abruptly to one side
or the other and get stuck there, vary your foot position.) Balance!
Repeat with the opposite foot.

V.2.
|
Same
as V.1., but lift one pole off the ground.

V.3.
|
Same
as V.1., but lift both poles off the ground. Maintain a wide arm
position to stabilize your upper body.

V.4.
|
Same
as V.1., but wearing your ski boots. The center seam line of the
boot (the mold line) can be used to center your foot on the board.

V.5-6.
|
Same
as V.2-3., but with boots on.

V.7.
|
Two-footed.
Place both feet on the board, touching each other on the center
line. Adjust position if needed. Hold your arms wide for stability.
Start with both poles on the ground, then lift one, then lift both.
Balance!
