Linked turns on single foot

Balance on both edges of stance foot; tipping of free foot in both directions

  • Gentle hill
  • Skate to comfortable speed; glide straight on both feet
  • Lift one foot; tip it toward its little-toe edge to turn in that direction
  • To turn the other way, tip the lifted foot toward its big-toe edge and tip the stance foot toward its little-toe edge
  • Repeat to link turns
  • Keep the free foot close to or pressed against the stance foot
