Single turn, stepping

Turn using stepping

  • Flat, broad terrain (or gentle hill, if you can comfortably stop on it)
  • Skate to comfortable speed
  • Glide on two feet in a straight line
  • Step first with inside foot (here, her left); take a small step in direction of turn, placing foot back down on its little-toe edge
  • Step outside foot (here, her right) back next to inside foot
  • Step again with inside foot onto little-toe edge
  • Step outside foot next to inside foot; repeat until you stop
  • Take many small steps with very little displacement or divergence of the foot
