Walking on Rope

V.1. Backwards V.3. Forwards V.3. Backwards

 

 Goals Develop foot awareness
Sense balance through the feet
 Props 10 ft. length of rope or cord, approximately 1/8" diameter - thick enough to feel underfoot, not so thick that it hurts to stand on it.
 V.1. Stretch the rope in a straight line on a firm surface (tile, linoleum, hardwood floor). In bare feet, walk forward and backward on the rope.
 V.2.  Same as V.1., but keep your eyes closed.
 V.3. Arrange the rope in S-curves of varying size. Walk along the rope, keeping your feet pointed along the rope. When walking backward, use your foot to find and follow the rope behind you.
 V.4.  Same as V.3., but keep your eyes closed.
