Which of the following best describes your current ski technique, and your desire for change?

(Note: A wedge or snowplow position is where the front or tips of the skis are close together, and the backs or tails of the skis are spread apart.)

1. I keep my skis in a wedge or snowplow position most of the time. I have difficulty turning in one or both directions. To slow down, I need to make a bigger wedge or snowplow. I'd like to be able to turn better in both directions.

2. I keep my skis in a wedge or snowplow position most of the time. I can turn in both directions, and I control my speed by making turns, rather than by making a bigger wedge. I'd like to be able to make parallel turns.

3. I can keep my skis parallel when I'm going across the hill or finishing a turn. To start downhill, or to start making a turn, I usually open my skis into a wedge position. I'd like to keep my skis parallel all the time.

4. My skis are usually parallel. I go down the hill and turn occasionally, or when I need to slow down or avoid something. I'd like to get more of a rhythm to my turns.

5. I make turns with my skis parallel, and I usually have a rhythm to my turns. I'd like to get my feet closer together, and/or make my skis hold better, and/or prepare my technique for more difficult terrain.
