PMTS™ Super Blue Camp at Bear Valley,
California Overview This five-day ski week is designed for advanced and expert-level skiers wanting to learn or improve skiing the whole mountain, whatever the conditionsbumps, powder, groomed, ungroomed, and steeps. You do not need to have experience in the ungroomed to attend. There will be separate groups for all-mountain veterans, and novices to the ungroomed. Time will be split between groomed and ungroomed terrain according to the needs and motivations of the participants. The lessons will focus on efficient technique, with sufficient practice time and personal feedback. Video analysis will be used. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday offer 3 hours of instruction, while Tuesday and Thursday offer 6 hours/day. An assessment of your alignment is part of the camp. The on-snow balance assessment will take place during the lesson hours, while a complete indoor assessment will take place on the afternoons of the first and third days, outside of the lesson times. Any participants wishing to make changes to their equipment as a result of the assessment will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis outside of the lesson hours. There will be a maximum of six skiers per group to ensure significant personal attention. Dates February 23-27, 2009 (Monday - Friday) Lesson Times 9:30 - 12:30 (M, W, F) Cost $810 Lift Ticket Cost As part of our operating agreement with Bear Valley, our campers must buy group rate lift tickets. Bear Valley and the surrounding area offer a variety of dining and lodging choices, from hotels to cabins to condos. Bear Valley offers a wide variety of terrain within a compact, easily-navigated area. As well, it sits at a much lower elevation (6600 - 8500 ft) than Arapahoe Basin. If you've had trouble acclimating to the thin air at Arapahoe Basin, come to Bear Valley instead! See Bear Valley's website for more information about lodging options, driving directions, etc. Camp Reservations Please read important Enrollment information.
